Event: A symposium on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) for Geoscientists

Geoteric

"In many ways the Carbon, Capture & Storage (CCS) world with its wells, reservoirs and sealing cap-rocks will be familiar to geoscientists. However, in other ways it will be quite different. The twin necessities of driving costs down and ensuring long-term public safety will demand collaboration and openness like never before..."

Following the success of the first symposium last year, GESGB have scheduled a one-day symposium on the geoscience aspects of geological CO2 storage on December 14 2023.

During the conference, Dr Ryan Williams, Principal Geoscientist will be delivering a technical presentation, ‘Investigating the Viking cluster with AI Seismic Interpretation’. In his talk, Ryan highlights how the use of Geoteric AI coupled with traditional methods to analyse multiple subsurface structures is the most efficient way to investigate the subsurface and to  accelerate progress towards the 2050 NetZero target.

Furthermore, using Geoteric AI it is possible to increase the speed at which interpreters can complete geotechnically challenging problems, without any loss in accuracy, whilst also providing an unbiased solution. AI is the next giant step for interpreters, acting as an  assistant to increase their efficiency and allowing them to investigate structures in more detail than ever before.

Ryan's talk takes place on December 14, 11:30am - 12:00pm at the CCS4G Symposium 2023, London, UK. Are you planning a CCS project? Get in touch with the team to find out how we can help.
