Geoteric are proud to be participating in the technical conference at APEX Offshore 2026.

The symposium is a forum for subsurface professionals and business leaders to share best practices, showcase innovative technologies, exchange ideas, and advance the next stage of offshore exploration. The technical theme this year will address the challenges faced by exploration in Asia.

About the region

Indonesia is a hot bed of activity for oil and gas exploration especially in the deep water following multi TCF discoveries in the North Sumatra and Makassar Deep Water regions.

The first significant oil discovery in Indonesia was made in 1885 at Telega Tunggal No. 1, located in the Telega Said onshore concession area in North Sumatra. 140 years later, North Sumatra is facing a new exploration boom following the multi TCF Mubadala Energy gas discoveries at Timpan, Layaran & Tangkula.

Ander Bernando, Business Development Geoscientist at Geoteric, based in Jakarta, Indonesia will be presenting 'Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Seismic Interpretation: Integration of CNN Based AI Data Conditioning, AI Fault and AI Horizon, and ML Based Classification Applied to the “BJU” Dataset' in the Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Automation session.

The presentation highlights how the integrated application of AI Data Conditioning, AI assisted structural interpretation, HDFD spectral analysis, and ML-based geobody extraction significantly reduces interpretation turnaround time and improves the efficiency of prospect identification.
