The Fault Expression workflow recognises that the seismic expression of faults can be highly variable. Fault Expression addresses this issue through enabling faults to be detected based on three types of discontinuity attribute (Tensor, SOSemblance and Dip).

These can be used individually or combined in a CMY (Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) blend, ensuring the full expression of the fault is captured.

In an industry first, the Fault Expression workflow enables fault delineation directly from a CMY blend to give a more complete picture of the imaged 3D fault network.

Based on ffA’s patent pending example driven optimize approach, Fault Expression provides a fast and intuitive way of determining the best parameters for all three attributes.
